Summer News

2011

Today we have had 21 little Guinea Fowl hatch and all looking lovely with a mixture of colours.

We have recently started a small flock of sheep, 13 orphan lambs which we are hand rearing with the help of our visiting children.

We are all ready and waiting for harvest with our barn and trailers all washed out and ready to go.

Thomas is enjoying a very successful season windsurfing with the Roseland Waveriders who have been competing in the RYA Team 15 regional championships.

Sam is enjoying being on the water too and is sailing a RS Fever in Falmouth Week and is hoping to crew on one of the working boats during Fowey Week.

2010

We have had fantastic weather throughout June, long may it continue!

Sam and Thomas are spending plenty of time on the water with their sailing, kayaking and surfing activities.

10th,11th & 12th June The Royal Cornwall Show - A superb three days of some of the best the South West has to offer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at The Royal Cornwall Show.  We saw some wonderful exhibits particularly in the livestock sheds where we appreciated this year just how much time and effort had gone into preparing the animals. The food and farming tent provided an excellent opportunity to sample some of Cornwalls' finest produce.

19th June -  Making Hay while the sun shines. 

Taking advantage of the wonderful weather we have been able to cut, turn and bale the hay in good time.

21st June - The New Barn

The new barn has arrived and has been errected for us by a willing team of men who worked hard on some very hot days. 

August - Harvest

Harvest was upon us rather quickly this year and once again our thanks went out to our friends, neighbours and relatives who, without being asked, turned up and worked endlessly until the job was done.

All in all another busy summer has flown by with familiar faces returning to the cottages and new ones too. The weather on the whole was good with some blips in August but it didn't stop anyone from getting out and enjoying themselves. Looking forward to next summer and seeing many of our guests return for another year.
